Born in the quiet village of Shambala, Kalki Hari, son of Vishnuyath and Sumati, has no idea about his heritage until he is pitted against tragedies and battles.
Whisked into the province of Keekatpur, which is under the fist of Lord Kali, Kalki sees the ignominy of death trumping life all around him. He learns that he has been born to cleanse the world he lives in, for which he must journey to the North and learn the ways of Lord Vishnu’s Avatar; from an immortal who wields an axe.
But trapped in the midst of betrayals, political intrigue and forces that seek to decimate him, will he be able to follow his destiny before the Kaliyug begins?

Question: Tell us something about your book Kalki?

Answer: It’s difficult to summarize an epic novel into 2-3 sentences, but I will try. I took some inspiration from other major epic stories such as Baahubali and Game of Thrones and created my own epic story Kalki. The mythological idea of Kalki has existed since thousands of years and has been described in Kalki Purana, but the subject was never explored in detail. This is what prompted me to make Kalki as the primary theme of my book.

Question: What exactly inspired you to write kalki?

Answer: The inspiration came from several sources including Baahubali and Game of Thrones. There are two primary characters in my book; one is Kalki, who is inspired by Baahubali and Kali, who is based on the Game of Thrones.Kalki and Kali are still in their journey to become a hero and a villain respectively. They have not yet acquired their final roles.

Question: Did you face any problems with publishing your books?

Answer: Yes, I have. I have faced many problems with publishers. Most publishers don’t care to read your book until you are someone famous or the child of a famous person. Most publishers would just look at your background and deny publishing your book. I faced many rejections from publishers even when there were also the ones that supported me. Since I was not satisfied with the response of publishers, I decided to launch my own publishing house. It’s a better option than paying money to publishers to publish your book.

Question: How much time you take to write and publish your books?

Answer: My first book took around 4 months, starting from writing the book to getting it published. I write my books very fast since I have everything figured out in my mind head. I wrote Kalki in around a month’s time.

However a lot of time, around 2 months was spent on designing the captivating cover of the book.

Question: What has been the response from readers and your family?

Answer: My earlier books did not sell that much, but that was majorly because we lacked a proper distribution system. Now, I have my own publishing house, so I can penetrate the market better. My family has been supportive since the beginning and continues to do so.I am not worried about the future since my publishing house will act as insurance in case Ido not succeed in my career as an author. My father has always supported me and he always reads my books. However, he was not exactly impressed with Kalki, since he is more of a Sidney Sheldon fan. But that is not a problem since my target audience is the 15-35 age group and my book is meant for them only.

Question: Do you have any upcoming books?

Answer: I have two books in the pipeline. One of the books has been with a publisher since two years, but since Kalki has been launched now, it will be published later. The book is about Buddhist mythology, and it captures the story of Mara, the demon who tempted Lord Buddha. The second upcoming book is an erotic thriller and it’s a tribute to old Indian cinema. Both the books are expected to be published in 2018.
